A secretary job position is actually a job position where there are a lot of applicants wanting to take the said spot. Thus, if you are one of these applicants, you need to ensure that you have the edge among the other people wanting to take the position and you should be able to show to the potential employer that you have what it takes. This is usually done in the interview, where you can really start to convince your employers that you are the person for the job. A secretary's duties may differ depending on his boss and depending on the company. Generally however, a secretary's tasks should include administrative support for the management which includes preparing different sets of documents, organization, scheduling of events and ensuring that the calendar of the company is organized, making arrangements when it comes to conferences and travelling, recording minutes of meetings and distributing these minutes and other required documents to intended people. He should be able to do all of these duties with efficiency, plus other errands that might be asked by your boss.
Having these in mind, you should be able to make a resume which will highlight your ability to do all these errands even with pressure. You should also include in your resume your educational background and work experience to support your claims for the different qualifications needed. Other qualifications that you may put in your resume are being computer literate, fluent in the English language both oral and written, and should have good communication skills considering that you will act as a spokesperson to all employees and clients that your boss will need to talk to. You should also include your contact details so you can easily be contacted in case you get the position.
